HOW DO SONG CHOICES WORK?

Song Selection Guidelines

When it comes to choosing songs on the night, people tend to approach it in one of two ways:

  1. Leaving Song Selection to Us
    • Many couples prefer to trust us to read the crowd and select the right songs at the right time.
    • This is a big part of why we have a reputation for keeping dance floors packed—we pay close attention to how your guests are responding and adjust accordingly.
    • A great party isn’t just about playing good songs, but about playing them in the right order, at the right moment, to maximize energy and engagement.
  2. Providing a Few Key Preferences
    • You’re welcome to highlight up to five songs from our setlist that you’d love to hear on the night.
    • Just as usefully, you can note a few songs you’d prefer not to be played.
    • This helps us get a sense of your musical preferences while still allowing us the flexibility to adapt in real time.

What We Don’t Do

  • We don’t accept full setlists with extensive notes marking 100+ songs in green to play and dozens more to avoid.
  • While the intention is to create a perfect fit, in practice, this approach negatively affects the flow of the night by forcing us to consult a list instead of making quick, instinctive decisions based on real-time crowd energy.
  • Keeping a dance floor packed relies on seamless transitions between songs, with minimal silence in between. Any delay risks people leaving the floor for a drink, a chat, or another distraction.
  • While personal preferences matter, predicting the effect of each song on a live dance floor requires experience. We’ve played thousands of events worldwide and know from data and experience what works best in the moment.

By trusting us with song selection—either fully or with a small number of preferences—you ensure the best chance of an unforgettable, high-energy night.

What we’re not saying is it’s our choices take it or leave it – we actually only want you to have the most optimal songs played.
